ODI World Cup schedule 2023 to be announced during World Test Championship final

BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on May 27, after the board’s Special General Meeting (SGM) in Ahmedabad, that the schedule and venues for the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India are expected to be announced during the final of the World Test Championship in London.

Representatives of some Asian Cricket Council members, who are here for the IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on Sunday, will also make a decision on the Asia Cup 2023, to be held before the World Cup, in the coming days.

“The venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be decided at a press conference during the ICC World Test Championship Final. The complete schedule for the tournament will also be revealed,” Shah said.

The BCCI secretary announced that they have shortlisted 15 venues for upgrading fundamental spectator amenities, with plans to add additional stadiums in the future. The assignment has been delegated to Grant Thornton for this purpose.

Additionally, the proposed limited-overs series between India and Afghanistan will be held before the World Cup, but the dates and venues are yet to be worked out.
